‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart has reacted to the increasing demand for ‘gay actors to play gay characters’. The actress, who has been vocal about her sexual orientation, shared her thoughts about the trending topic, not just as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, but even as an actress.

Admitting that she has had the opportunity and access to a range of roles and work, she said in an interview with Variety, “I’ve just lived with such a creative abundance.”

She also went on to say, “I so acknowledge that I’ve just gotten to work.”

Kristen also said that she would never want to tell a story that should be told by somebody who has lived that experience. Calling the conversation a ‘slippery slope’, she said, “I could never play another straight character if I’m going to hold everyone to the letter of this particular law.”

“I think it’s such a grey area. There are ways for men to tell women’s stories or ways for women to tell men’s stories. But we need to have our finger on the pulse and actually have to care. You kind of know where you’re allowed,” Kristenshared.

The actress made headlines early this year when reports claimed that she is set to play Princess Diana in an upcoming film.
